In this section, you will find some of my development side projects. I have a background in media art history and have worked on projects in web development and data scraping.

Archiving an Archive

My Adventures Scraping the Contents of the Archive of Digital Art

A while ago, I wanted to learn web scraping so I wrote my own little suite of applications based on Puppeteer/Node.js to grab content from the Archive of Digital Art (ADA), parse it into JSON and extract the images. Join me as I scrape the bottom of the web archive.

Mansion of Trepidation

Mansion of Trepidation

This is a choice-based solo fantasy adventure in the style of the 'Choose Your Own Adventure' books I developed in vanilla JavaScript. The graphics and text descriptions are generated using AI tools. The descriptions are generated using ChatGPT. The player can search the 'Mansion of Trepidation' to defeat the villain and rescue their young nephew.

Pure Text Website

Cheesy Stuff
Xenon 2: Megablast

Table-based Xenon 2 Fansite

This is a little project from way back when I made a little fansite about the 1980s shoot 'em up game Xenon 2: Megablast. It's a table-based layout with rollover images and a lot of fun stuff. I made it in the early 2000s and it uses tables for the layout because IE needed that. It's a bit cheesy, but it's a fun little project.

S-Transfer

S-Transfer Website

Nearly ten years ago, I created a website for S-Transfer. This was a local startup in Vienna for the secure transfer of data. Ultimately, the startup never took off. For me this wasn't a problem because I submitted my work as a project for a media design course I was taking.
